Sommers Schwartz, P.C., a leading contingency-based litigation law firm, has opened an office in San Diego, California. The new location will be staffed by new shareholder Trenton R. Kashima and managed by senior shareholder Kevin J. Stoops.

“We have been fighting – and winning – for clients across the U.S. for years,” said Jason J. Thompson, head of Sommers Schwartz’ Complex Litigation Group. “Establishing a San Diego presence allows us to more efficiently prosecute wage and hour and consumer protection class actions from the western half of the country, while developing our mass tort, medical malpractice, and personal injury practice in California.”

Trent Kashima, known for the successful results he has obtained in false advertising, unfair sales practices, predatory lending, and unpaid wage and overtime class actions, joins Sommers Schwartz from another established class action firm. Mr. Kashima received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from San Diego State University, an LL.M. in Globalization and Law from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Sommers Schwartz, P.C., a law firm with offices in Southfield, Michigan and San Diego, California, represents individuals across the country harmed because of medical errors, defective products, loss of income and employment, and other forms of negligence or intentional injury, and businesses involved in complex litigation matters that jeopardize their existence.
