Houston Personal Injury Law Firm, Lowenberg & Kumar, has announced a $1,000 scholarship opportunity for college and trade students. The scholarship was established to encourage students to advance their education beyond high school, better preparing them to enter the workforce and give back to their communities.

In the United States, over 60% of undergraduate students graduate with student loan debt. Scholarships lessen this burden, allow students to spend more time focusing on their education, as well as encouraging students to be philanthropic later in life.

Who is eligible?

The Lowenberg & Kumar Scholarship is open to students from across the country. To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. citizens and show proof of current enrollment or acceptance at an accredited college or trade school. If the applicant is already attending college, they must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or above. Current high school students, who are applying based on their acceptance into a program, must show a high school G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. Funds can only be used for school tuition and related expenses. A check will be made payable directly to the educational institution.

How to Apply

Those interested in being considered for the scholarship will write an essay of at least 750 words, but no more than 1,000 words, on what will set you apart from others in your chosen field or profession. When answering this question, applicants are encouraged to consider what they will do to bring unique value to their work and how they will prevent against mediocrity in their vocation.

The essay should be emailed to scholarships "at" thetexastriallawyers.com in MS Word, PDF, or plain text format, along with proof of enrollment or acceptance in an accredited college or trade school, and a copy of your most recent college, trade school, or high school transcripts. Include your name and phone number in your email.

The deadline to apply for the Lowenberg & Kumar Scholarship each year is November 1st at Midnight, Pacific Time.
