Holland & Hart Announces Chris Balch Elected Firm Chair

Holland & Hart is pleased to announce that Chris Balch has been elected Firm Chair. Balch will replace Liz Sharrer, who served the firm as Chair for the last six years. Balch’s term begins on January 1, 2020.

“Chris has demonstrated his dedication to both his clients and the firm for more than 20 years. He has provided consistent and sound advice to a range of clients in various industries, all while taking on a number of leadership roles and management responsibilities to help advance the firm’s mission and goals over the years,” said Sharrer. “I’m thrilled that he will be assuming the highest leadership position at the firm and I’m looking forward to watching him elevate and further distinguish Holland & Hart’s brand of providing an outstanding level of service and loyalty to clients.”

Balch began his career at Holland & Hart as a summer clerk and has developed a robust practice counseling businesses from startups to publicly traded companies in complex financial and strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. He also represents private equity, growth capital and venture capital investors, and their portfolio companies in a variety of investment, financing, and strategic initiatives.

Prior to becoming Firm Chair, Balch also served as a member of the firm’s five-person Management Committee, which oversees the firm’s management and strategic direction, served as the Denver Hiring Partner, and most recently as Co-Chair of the Technology, Communication, and Media Industry Group, and of the Holland & Hart Foundation.
