Daniel E. Parga, an associate in the International Trade and International Arbitration and Litigation practices at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will moderate a D.C. Bar program discussion May 8 titled, “Current Perspectives on Trade and Investment in Peru and its Impact on the Region.” The event is the third and final program in the D.C. Bar’s ‘Embassy Series.’
The panelists will discuss trade and investment trends in the Americas as well as political and economic issues that may be affecting finance and investment in Peru specifically. The panel topics include Peru’s attractiveness to foreign investment and international trade competitiveness, the country’s political and economic regimes, and how international agreements and participation in economic blocks impact the Andean nation from an international economic perspective.
Parga, who sits in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, focuses his practice on many aspects of international trade and investment, including the representation of companies and foreign governments in trade remedy proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the U.S. Court of International Trade. His experience also includes representing governments in the negotiation of free trade agreements, as well as acting on behalf of companies, investors, and national governments in international arbitration proceedings conducted under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). He handles matters in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
