Shareholders Antonio Peña and Manuel Rajunov of Greenberg Traurig, LLP were selected for inclusion in The Legal 500 “Private Practice Powerlist.” The publication recognizes the leading U.S. based lawyers whose practice includes a focus on Mexico.

Selection to the “Private Practice Powerlist” is based on an independent nomination process and is supplemented by rigorous background research from The Legal 500’s U.S. and Latin America teams. For 30 years, The Legal 500 has been analyzing the capabilities of law firms across the world. In its second year, the “Private Practice Powerlist” identifies key individual practitioners with outstanding specialization in, and knowledge of, the U.S. and Mexico.

A corporate shareholder in the firm’s Miami office and a member of the Latin American and Iberian Practice, Peña has law degrees from the United States, Mexico and Spain. He consistently represents strategic investors and private equity funds in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, restructurings and other corporate matters throughout the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain. Peña previously served as acting General Counsel for a joint venture between two Fortune 500 companies operating in 13 jurisdictions in Latin America and has been the recipient of multiple awards, including the M&A Deal of the Year Award from Latin Lawyer magazine.

A member of the Tax Practice in the firm’s Dallas office, Manuel Rajunov focuses his practice on tax consulting and transactional advice to foreign investors doing business in Mexico, as well as advising Mexican investors on their investments overseas. With more than 20 years of experience, Rajunov’s practice has special emphasis on securities offerings, majority and minority investments, mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions. Rajunov’s experience spans a number of different sectors, including the real estate development, finance, private wealth, manufacturing and distribution, retail, technology, gaming, hospitality, and housing sectors.
